Sunday Supper! MmmmMmmm Beef Stroganoff

10:14 PM

Sunday Supper is just something I really like to keep going in my busy house hold. Sure there are weeks  that we have so much going on that we cant all make it to dinner at the same time.
But having something home made and ready to go is definitely  key. Especially in the cold winter months, and football season! GO (insert your favorite team here LOL ) !!

This week I will be tossing all of this yummy goodness into the crock pot before I head off to work for the day. Beef Stroganoff ready and waiting when I walk through the door. Here is my favorite crock pot stroganoff recipe that is always a hit with the family ... even the little picky picky eats like a bird 11 year old!

Crockpot Beef Stroganoff ...

1-2 lbs cube steak cut into one-inch pieces; or 1-2 lbs stew beef, cut into 1/2 inch pieces
2 cans condensed golden mushroom soup
1 cup chopped onion
1 Tb Worcestershire sauce
1 14 oz can beef broth
8 oz button mushrooms, cleaned and quartered (optional)
salt and pepper to taste
 ............................................
4 ounces cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup sour cream
 .............................................
In the crockpot, combine the meat, soup, onion, Worcestershire sauce, beef broth, mushrooms, salt and pepper. Cook on low for 5-6 hours. Stir in cream cheese and sour cream about half an hour before serving, stirring every ten minutes or so to break up cream cheese.
Serve over cooked egg noodles or rice. (After the egg noodles have cooked, I like to add them directly into the crockpot for about half an hour for the flavors to mingle and thicken up a bit.)
If the sauce is not thick enough for you, add some cornstarch and water.

If you give this recipe a try, leave a comment and let me know what you think! I love to hear how the recipes I love turn out for others and get opinions!
